Ballon d'Or Winner Kane Signs New Bayern Deal Until 2029

Harry Kane has committed his future to Bayern Munich, signing a new contract that will keep the England captain at the Allianz Arena until 30 June 2029. The 33-year-old striker, who won the Ballon d'Or last month to become the first Englishman to claim football's most prestigious individual honour since Michael Owen in 2001, had entered the final year of his previous deal. Bayern confirmed the extension on Thursday, with Kane saying the decision had been made long ago. "We signed the contract yesterday, but the decision was made a long time ago," Kane said. "I am very happy here, and I want to keep winning with this club." Kane has been a phenomenon since joining Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, scoring 156 goals in 161 appearances in all competitions. He has finished as the Bundesliga's top scorer in each of his seasons in Germany, won two league titles, the German Cup and two German Super Cups, and was named Germany's Footballer of the Year in 2026. He has started the current season in familiar form, with 10 goals and eight assists in 14 appearances, including his 100th Bundesliga goal in a 7-0 win over Union Berlin in September. Bayern did not disclose financial details, but German media reported the deal is the most lucrative contract in the club's history. Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said the extension showed the story was far from over. For Kane, who had been linked with a return to England, the deal also keeps him at the highest level through to the 2028 home European Championship and beyond.
