Arteta Hands Arsenal Triple Boost as Rice, Calafiori and Tzolis Return for Anfield Trip

Arsenal's injury picture brightened considerably on Friday as Mikel Arteta confirmed that Declan Rice, Riccardo Calafiori and Christos Tzolis all returned to training ahead of Sunday's Premier League trip to Liverpool. The Gunners travel to Anfield needing a response after Tuesday's Carabao Cup defeat at Fleetwood Town, and Arteta said the trio would train again on Saturday before a final decision. "They all trained today, they will train tomorrow and if everything is OK they will be available," he told reporters. Rice and Calafiori picked up their issues in last weekend's 2-0 win over Everton, while Tzolis has missed six matches with a thigh problem suffered on international duty with Greece. Their return would ease a selection headache, with Bukayo Saka and William Saliba still sidelined and Max Dowman suspended after his Fleetwood red card. A late call will also be made on Noni Madueke after Saturday's session. Arsenal, second and level on points with Manchester City, have not won a league game at Anfield since September 2012, while Liverpool sit fourth, six points behind the Gunners, after last weekend's 2-0 home win over Brighton.
