Apple Maps Rolls Out Immersive Austin Experience With Detailed Circuit of the Americas Ahead of the US Grand Prix
Apple's Detailed City Experience has arrived in Austin, Texas, giving F1 fans a richly detailed 3D look at Circuit of the Americas and the city around it ahead of the October 25 United States Grand Prix.

Apple is getting race fans ready for the United States Grand Prix with an upgrade to Apple Maps in Austin. The company's Detailed City Experience — a rich, stylized 3D rendering of buildings, roads, and foliage — has now rolled out across Austin, Texas, with Circuit of the Americas receiving custom artwork and detailed landmarks just in time for race weekend.
According to the report, Apple has gone beyond the usual city detail for COTA itself: the app now maps the track's grandstands, entry gates, rideshare pickup points, and pedestrian walkways, making it easier for fans to navigate the circuit. Nearby attractions such as the COTALAND theme park also get custom details.
The Austin update also brings new 3D landmarks across the city, including the Apple Domain Northside campus, Black's Barbecue, the LBJ Presidential Library, and the Paramount Theater — down to small touches like birds flying over the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge. A new Apple Maps Guide also highlights country singer Dylan Gossett's favorite Austin spots, with custom artwork for each business.
The move continues Apple's pattern of refreshing F1 venues as the calendar reaches them, part of its broader push around the US broadcast rights for Formula 1. This year's United States Grand Prix takes place on October 25 at 2:50 p.m. ET, available to watch through the Apple TV app.
