Allgaier Stays Put: JR Motorsports Star Signs Multi-Year Deal for 2027 and Beyond
Justin Allgaier has signed a multi-year deal to stay with JR Motorsports, ending speculation that he would retire after the 2026 season.

Justin Allgaier is not done yet. JR Motorsports announced on Monday evening that the veteran driver and his longtime sponsor BRANDT will return to the team on a multi-year deal beginning in 2027, with Allgaier continuing to drive the No. 7 Chevrolet in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series. The announcement, made in a short video on social media, put an end to speculation about his future. Allgaier revealed that his initial plans had not involved racing beyond this season, telling fans simply: "I wasn't quite ready yet." The timing could hardly be better. Allgaier, the 2024 series champion, is the current series points leader and carries a 22-point lead into the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday, where he is seeking a second title. He is in his 16th season in the series and his 11th in a row with JR Motorsports, a partnership that began in 2016 and has produced 34 wins, the sixth-most in the division's history. The team also confirmed its wider 2027 line-up: Carson Kvapil moves to the No. 8 full-time, while Sam Mayer returns to the No. 1 after two seasons at Haas Factory Team. For Allgaier, the new deal means the chase for another championship will continue well beyond this weekend's finale.
