ALDS Game 2 Today: White Sox at Guardians, Yankees at Rays

Both American League Division Series resume Monday with Game 2, and both visiting teams already have their backs against the wall.

The Chicago White Sox struck first in their best-of-five with the Cleveland Guardians, winning Saturday's opener to seize a 1-0 series lead. The action returns to Cleveland for Monday's 4pm CT first pitch, where the Guardians must even things up to avoid a 0-2 hole. Game 3 of that series goes to Chicago on Wednesday, Oct 7, giving the White Sox a golden chance to put Cleveland on the brink.

In the other series, the Tampa Bay Rays host the New York Yankees at 7pm CT, also carrying a 1-0 series lead into Game 2. The Yankees, who know a thing or two about October drama, need a split in Tampa before the series shifts venues.

Both best-of-five matchups are first to three wins, and early momentum in a short series is everything. The White Sox and Rays can seize commanding control with Monday victories, while the Guardians and Yankees are in must-win territory already.

With pitching rotations stretched and lineups under October lights, expect tense, tactical baseball across both parks tonight.
