Adam Scott One Shot Off Baycurrent Lead After Stunning Two-Eagle 65

Adam Scott is knocking loudly on the door of a long-awaited PGA Tour victory after a scintillating 6-under 65 in Saturday's third round of the Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club. The 46-year-old Australian reached 12 under for the tournament, sitting one stroke behind co-leaders Michael Brennan, Zach Bauchou and Jacob Bridgeman, who share the 54-hole lead at 13-under 200. Scott's move was built on a spectacular front nine featuring two eagles, pitching in from off the green at the par-5 sixth before holing out from 97 yards on the par-4 ninth, and he tied for the low round of the day without dropping a shot. A 14-time Tour winner whose last triumph came at the 2020 Genesis Invitational, Scott has been open about his frustration at more than six years without a title, and he now has 18 holes to end the drought in the Tour's lone Asian stop, where 13 of the 24 Presidents Cup participants are in the field. Justin Thomas also surged into a tie for fourth with a 67, while defending champion Xander Schauffele remains four back at nine under after a roller-coaster round of his own.
